Responsibilities:

A.  The Safety of the yacht and its crew is the sole responsibility of the skipper.  He must be certain of the shape and seaworthiness of the boat and its rigging, as well as the seaworthiness and the physical condition of the crew.  The skipper must also vouch for the strength of the hull, mast, rigging, sails and running rigging.  He must see to it that all equipment is maintained in working order and that the whole crew know where to find if and how to use it.

B.  Meeting the NStYA minimum requirements for equipment and safety or even a yachts inspection when directed by the race committee, reduces in no was the skippers sole and full responsibility.

C.  It is the sole and full responsibility of the skipper and crew to determine whether or not to start, or to pursue the race.

D.  The Organizers decline all responsibility towards the participants or their relatives.  The competitor must hold an insurance policy to cover a minimum of $1,000,000 to protect his civil responsibility towards the third party.

I hereby declare that the above named yacht has insurance liability coverage in the amount and that I have read, approved and accepted the above responsibility.
