Mar 28, 2016, 8:17 am

Hi PYC Members,

The boating season is getting closer, soon the covers will be coming off and the anti-fouling paint and wax will be going on.

The 2016 PYC membership form is uploaded to the website, you can download the form and send your membership dues to address at the bottom of the form.  One of our goals as a club is to increase the membership base of PYC.  If you know a boatowner, crew member, or someone new to boating, please let them know about the benefit's of being a member of PYC. They can also check out our Pictou Yacht Club Facebook page.

I also want to thank Bill Stright for all the work he did to organize the NStYA booth at the Halifax International Boat Show, and thank you to other PYC members who helped "spread the word" at the booth.

There is a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, March 29th, 6:00 pm at Trenton Middle School.

Make Waves for the IWK
Sep 22, 2015, 1:36 pm

Hi everyone.

On the 26th Pictou Yacht Club will be participating in Make Waves for the IWK fundraiser.  We have schedule a pursuit race to start at 2:00 pm.  We will have a start time for each boat participating on Saturday, skippers can pick up their start time at the skippers meeting.  The skippers meeting will be at 1:00 pm and the race will be approximately 1hr 30 minutes long.

Following the event there will be a Marina Party at the club.  Art Coleman and Friends will be playing at the club starting at 6:00 pm.  It will be a great way to spend the day on the water, enjoy great entertainment at the club and raise some money for the IWK.

For the sailboats wanting to participate in the “Make Waves for the IWK”, it is never too late to sign up, the more the merrier.  Please have anyone else who is interested drop me an email with their name, boat name, email and postal address.  Ian Dawson’s email address: iddawson@gmail.com

If you would like to donate to one the the boats participating in the fundraiser, it is never too late.  To find the PYC boats participating click on the link http://bit.ly/1ODpj2V , select a boat and then click "Give Now" and the rest is easy.

For every $100 in donations, your PHRF rating goes up a point, for each boat that raises at least $500, you'll get a Make Waves battle flag to fly proudly from your rig.

Nova Scotian Crystal keeper Rum Glasses are being given to the top fundraiser in each of the clubs in Charlottetown, Baddeck, Pictou and Bedford.  The top fundraiser across the region will be awarded a perpetual trophy, also from Nova Scotian Crystal.

Here are the website links for the event.
